So you want be a scuba diver?
Well, you’ve come to the right place!

We’re about to unlock a world of wonder for you. Another universe where you can float weightless like an astronaut, experience life-changing interactions with creatures few people have ever seen and have adventures you never knew existed. You'll experience and do things you never imagined you would… it’s going to be amazing!

Our highly qualified instructors will turn you into a BSAC Ocean Diver, an internationally recognised diving qualification understood for its quality over the rest.

After that, the underwater world is yours to explore!

The Ocean Diver training programme consists of a theory element followed by pool training and finally, you will repeat and practice your skills in Open Water where you really get to see and experience the magic of scuba diving.

Theory training will be delivered via eLearning and will be supported by your club instructors who will help you with anything you might need a bit more time with.

Once your theory is complete, you will complete your pool sessions with us over a number of weeks.

After you've nailed the pool sessions, our partner dive centre, ROHO Dive, based in Heckmondwike, will take you to our favourite open water site Capernwray Dive Centre where you will complete the open water element of the course.

Once qualified, you'll be able to join us on trips, practice your skills in the pool and become one of the Pontefract Scuba Club Family.

As and when you decide to move on to your Advanced Ocean Diver or Sports Diver Qualification, this will be completed by our in-club instructors.

The practical elements of the course involves 2 days instruction and starts from £200 which includes all equipment

(excluding a mask and snorkel).

To start your scuba journey, simply buy your Ocean Diver eLearning pack from the BSAC Website. This is currently £124.50 and includes 12 months BSAC membership and diver insurance.
