With 60+ days of organised diving a year around the UK and abroad, nationally qualified instructors on hand, buddies lining up to dive with you and access to Wakefield's newest and best pool facility for you and your family, the question is, why haven't you joined us already?
Joining our club is not just about having access to world-class training, club gear and great diving opportunities at home and abroad. It’s about connecting with like-minded people and enjoying adventures together. It’s about making great friends, having a laugh and sharing it all with people who have the same passions as you for our seas and oceans and everything that lives there.
OUR CLUB
We are a very diverse group of folk aged from 12 to 70+. We come from all walks of life and we have a great mix of boys and girls.
We’re quite a social bunch so when we’re not off diving we meet up for a range of other activities over the year. We have a number of planned events - our annual summer BBQ, the Christmas party and the hotly contested Photo & Film Awards - but we also have plenty of ad-hoc socials such as tenpin bowling, curry nights and visits to the comedy club or Ocean Film Festival. Basically, if it’s going to be a laugh or inspirational, then we’re pretty much up for it!

OUR GAS
Free Air & Discounted Nitrox for Members - Late night opening Thursdays!
In late 2022 we purchased a brand new Coltri Compressor which we have fitted in our compressor room at our Clubhouse. Members can enjoy free Air fills and discounted Nitrox fills on the production of a valid Nitrox Certificate.
If you're one of those divers that likes to be in control of every aspect of their dive and dive prep and would like to learn how to fill your own cylinders and blend your own Nitrox, then we can teach you all you need to know. If on the other hand, you'd rather not have that responsibility, then most of our members will be able to fill and mix gas for you - Though it may cost you a drink from the bar!
We can provide air fills and Nitrox to 300 bar. Fills are done either on Monday nights when we're at the club or any Thursday night between 19:00 - 20:30 on request.

OUR FAMILY
Pontefract Scuba Club is a family friendly club!
We actively encourage you to involve your family in our club so they can join in the adventures too. Partners and children are welcome to come and make use of our pool while you are training or practising and if they don’t fancy a dip themselves, there is a large, dry-side viewing area or balcony where they can enjoy a cuppa while watching your diving exploits.
Many of our trips are also family friendly and members will frequently bring along partners and kids for the weekend away. It’s a great way for the whole family to make new friends and get involved in the adventure! Join us today - what are you waiting for?
WHERE TO FIND US
We meet every Monday night except on bank holidays. We use the pool at Aspire@ThePark every fortnight from 6.45pm for training, testing kit, or just to have a splash around.
On alternate Mondays we meet from 7.00pm in our clubhouse, Byram Park Sports & Social Club to have a chat, a drink and to plan our next diving adventures!!
Not dived before? Come for a Try Dive with a qualified instructor to try scuba diving for the first time.
